Gimnasio South Fitness

Great gym for the holiday workouts!! I went here 3 times during my one week vacation in Nerja. It's well equipped, very clean, super friendly staff, and the price is reasonable (8€ per day or 20,50€ per week).

There's more equipment than what my photos show and it has everything one needs.

Friendly staff. Loads of machines, but for serious aerobic it's just too warm. The cycling machines look like they have been bought off a home shopping channel and are really poor. The concept 2 ergos desperately need a service. Been back there since and my mistake. The cycle machines are of good quality, and it is one of the best equipped gyms. It is however a little warm for aerobic stuff

Great gym in Nerja. There are only 2 real options for gyms in Nerja (Time Sport and South Fitness) where they have both weights, machines, and cardio equipment. I worked out at both for a month…both are great but slightly different.

South Fitness is much less busy (but smaller) which makes it easy to get machines and a good workout. The layout of the gym is great and they have a spinning room (which I didn’t use) as well as aerobic studio (which I used almost every day to stretch and warm up in).

All the equipment is clean, well maintained, and there is everything you need to get a great workout in. The machines at South Fitness are newer vs. Time Sport.

The staff at both gyms is super friendly and the hours are the same. There is no wifi at South Fitness (vs Time Sport which has wifi) which would be the only negative but it makes up for it with much less people so it’s easier to get a good workout in.

The price for this gym is very reasonable at EUR 8 for a day pass and EUR 45 for the month. At the other gym, you need to buy a card which makes the price EUR 50 for a month whereas here you don’t need to buy the token to open the gate so this gym is EUR 5 cheaper for a month.

You need to bring your own towel and you can rent one if you forget it (same as the other gym).

Overall, I’d recommend this gym and will work out here on my next trip to Nerja based on the fact that it’s less busy.

Great little gym to drop in while in town on vacation! Drop in process was super easy. Staff were friendly and helpful. Something like 8 euro for a day pass. Smooth cables and good variety of machines. Solid freeweights section.

Friendly staff. Good variety of weight machines. On first glance the gym looks modern and slick, but on closer inspection some of the machines are in real need of repair. Very expensive, 45 euros for 30 days plus 8 euros for a fob which is non refundable. There are also rates by the day and week. You must take a towel or you'll be asked to rent one. Opening hours are limited if you're accustomed to 24/7 gyms, 0800 to 2200 Monday to Friday, 1000 to 1400 on Saturday and closed on Sundays. Everyone seems to know each other so it's a friendly and social environment. Can't comment on the classes offered.
