We stopped by Kaleido in the Puerto Marina area of Benalmádena for a drink. The space itself is very funky and visually interesting, and it’s connected to a Tex-Mex restaurant, which adds to the appeal.
However, the experience fell short on service. When we looked at the drink menu, we noticed the prices were significantly higher than other nearby establishments. We were approached by a waitress who asked, “Are you ready to order?” without a smile or any basic niceties, which immediately felt a bit unwelcoming.
We ordered a beer and a specialty cocktail called Sharp Dressed Man, priced at €11.50. The beer arrived first, followed a few minutes later by the cocktail—along with the bill and debit machine at the same time. This made us feel rushed, as if we were expected to pay and move on rather than enjoy the space.
After paying, we were never approached again to see if we’d like another drink, so we decided to leave and go elsewhere. It’s a shame, because the venue has a lot of potential, but friendlier service and a more relaxed approach would make a big difference.
