The authentic heart of Andalusia.
Antequera is one of Spain’s best-kept secrets. It’s a beautiful mix of Roman ruins, Moorish fortresses, and Baroque churches. Unlike the more "touristy" coastal spots, this feels like a real Spanish town. It’s clean, walkable (if you don’t mind hills), and the people are incredibly welcoming.
Don't miss: The Dolmens (UNESCO site) on the edge of town and the El Torcal nature reserve nearby.
Food: You HAVE to try a Mollete for breakfast and the Porra Antequerana for lunch. Great value for money compared to Malaga or Seville.
Atmosphere: Quiet, historic, and stunningly beautiful at sunset.
