Amor a Málaga

This was the best meal we’ve had in the Malaga region. David our waiter was first class. His recommendations and explanations were brilliant. The food was sensational. The Goats Cheese Salad was the best we’ve tasted. Chicken Churrasco was gorgeous! Everything was top drawer. Great wine and beer too! A must to visit! We’ll definitely be back. Mucho Gracias. The focus of this establishment has recently changed from being a wine shop to a traditional Spanish restaurant. The food is outstanding. Authentic and delicious. We will keep going back until we have tried everything on the menu. We chose the house wines (red and rose), and they didn't disappoint. Set in the original house of the owner's grandparents, it has a charming, traditional feel, with a real sense of history. We loved it.

Whilst in Mijas Pueblo, we visited Amor A Málaga, a beautiful wine shop & were served by the charming owner, Maria. Maria is very personable & her passion & knowledge of her business is very evident. There is a great selection of wines, many from Malaga, reds, whites, roses etc. You can also book via the businesses social media channels wine tasting. Wonderful Spanish-style dinner for our last night in Andalucia. The staff were very friendly, taking time to explain and recommend the daily specials. Delightful dishes and an excellent wine selection. We had a choice of various tapas, followed by main courses of beef (perfectly cooked medium-rare, as requested) and sea bass (beautifully grilled in olive oil and herbs). We finished with three of their desserts, all equally delicious. Highly recommended in Mijas! Bravo!

This place definitely does not deserve 5 stars. Although everyone was very nice, the food was hit or miss. The callos was hearty and tasty and a good value. The albondigas were tasty although a bit salty. The goat cheese salad was very delicious but the portion was pretty small. And the worst thing was the fried calamari. The portion was incredibly small as were the actual calamari, and it just tasted ok. If the portions were bigger, it would have been 5 stars.
