I came out of lockdown determined to shop at local businesses in my neighborhood, so taking advantage of a family event, I bought five cakes, two of which were red velvet.

Well, the red velvet cakes were hard and sour, a clear sign that they had been on the display much longer than they should have been. Honestly, inedible.

The other three (chocolate, dulce de leche, and apple) were fine, but the awful taste of the red velvet cakes meant that almost no one dared to try them.

I thought about going down to the shop to ask for an explanation, but I didn't want to risk another disappointment. I won't be back.
