Fresh seafood, great value, but watch the salt!

This seafood restaurant is very popular, so we arrived before it opened and told the staff we’d come back at 8 pm. That wasn’t really a reservation though — when we returned at 8, they said we could dine until 9:30, which was plenty of time for us. A tip: if you want a guaranteed spot, either call ahead or be there when doors open. Most locals seem to eat around 9 or 10 pm.

The seafood was fresh, prices were reasonable, service was fast, and the staff were friendly. Before opening, we felt a bit lost due to the language barrier — not sure who to ask — even though many staff members were already there. You also get a free after-dinner drink。

One thing to note: many dishes are simply seasoned with sea salt, and the salt crystals can be quite large. If you bite into one, it gets extremely salty. I’d suggest they use less salt or no salt at all, letting diners add their own. I drank a lot of water after the meal 😅

Wonderful restaurant, we don't normally go to the same place twice on a holiday but had to make an exception as the food and service were so good. If you like seafood this is the place to go.

Recommend getting there early as it can fill up quickly.

You know it's good when there is a que and all of the local families are eating. Lovely fried sea food. I also enjoyed the fried aubergine 🍆 . Staff were super friendly. If I have time I will go back. Cheers 🍻 for a great tapas style fried lunch .

It might be a prerequisite to like seafood, but the food here is absolutely amazing. The service is good and friendly and very quick. We were lucky enough to get the table straight away. I couldn't recommend this place enough!

If you want an authentic taste of Málaga's incredible seafood culture, Freiduría Chupytira is the place to go.
The food is phenomenal. Every dish was incredibly fresh, perfectly seasoned, and fried, Grilled to absolute perfection—crispy, light, and not greasy at all.
From the classic pescaíto frito to the local specialties, everything we ordered was bursting with flavor.
The service was fast, efficient, and incredibly well-managed, even with the lively, bustling atmosphere.
The staff genuinely made the experience special; they were welcoming, high-energy, and attentive despite how busy they were, making us feel right at home.
Fantastic food, brilliant service, and a wonderful, authentic vibe.
We will definitely be back next time we are in Málaga! Highly recommended!
