A quaint place in a quiet rural town, this one delivered the goods. The owner/manager was very friendly, the room was clean and adequate. I didn't really get why I was given a ground floor room facing the road when the place was nearly empty (supposedly there are nice upstairs rooms with balconies), but, well, no big deal. The place is a short way out of town, but everything is very walkable. Be sure to check out Las Naranjas bar in town.

Been there twice. Really cute hotel with nice owner at the reception. 15 minutes from Caminito canyon.

Visited the area for 3 days for a climbing trip, this room was ideal. Bed was comfy, room is clean, excellent shower. Nice views over the valley. For the price, it is a good room.

The manager was very helpful with things we needed in the town. He recommended a bar (El Pino) for homemade tapas which we loved and went every night. Quality, and local prices.

This hostel is 10-20 minutes from all the major crags, closer to Displomandia than El Chorro, which is great as this is the only premier crag which gets consistent shade.

Would definitely stay again next time visiting El Chorro.

We were doing a 10 day road trip around Andalucía and this was the worst place we stayed in.

The hostel is in the middle of nowhere in a tiny village with nothing in it. Even so, do not expect your stay here to be a quiet, pleasant experience, it was unbelievably noisy and an uncomfortable stay. The walls are paper thin so you can either hear people talking or walking around inside or a chorus of the neighbours dogs barking outside at all times.

I understand everything mentioned so far is not controllable by the host, but there are other aspects that were sub-par.

The room were stayed in cost over €50 and didn't have access to a kitchen or access to running drinking water. The check-out time on Airbnb said 11AM, but the lady here insisted that we be gone by 10AM. The shower was so small that only 1 person could fit in it and the shower head wouldn't stay on the wall so we had to hold it up with our hands. We couldn't find any place to eat in the village as we arrived late so we ate our crackers on the floor of our apartment.

We didn't even have access to a fridge. I brought meat with me expecting to be able to cook it, I had to bring it down to reception and ask to have it put in the staff fridge behind the reception area. The lady behind the counter only half listened to what I was saying and kept cutting me off so I had to repeat myself 3 times before she finally put it in the hostel's fridge. Throughout this exchange, she tried to tell me that the kitchen was not mentioned in the Airbnb page and we would have to pay more for the room with a kitchen in it, even though the photos of the place on Airbnb has a kitchen in it. Because of the language barrier, (and the fact that this place was already 3 times the price of what someone should pay), we gave up and just went to bed and left as soon as we could.

EDIT: To the owner's reply: your sarcastic, rage-filled, and even ALL CAPS response is only harming your argument and making you look foolish.

clean and comfortable rooms, but my compliments go to the owner: kind and full of information. If you want to go to the Caminito Del Rey, sleep here and ask for everything you want to know. Super!
