Hotel Riu Monica

We have just returned from this lovely hotel and made another reservation of which is something we have never done before. The room we were allocated was perfect with lovely views and quiet. All the staff worked very hard and seemed very happy in their job. Plenty of choice of food in the restaurant and nicely presented. All areas were spotlessly clean and pool area had plenty of chairs with easy private access to the lovely beach and walkway. Close to everything you need in and the town and lovely walk to the Balcón de Europe. Thank you Riu Monica, can’t wait to return.

Came here for a week with Mum on half board basis. This is an adults only hotel. Check in was smooth with a complimentary glass of cava. Room was quite big with a limited sea view. Excellent location opposite plenty of bars. The food was excellent and it was nice to sit outside with heaters on. Plenty of choice. There is also a Spanish restaurant if you want waiter service. The drinks are reasonably priced and plenty of choice. The pool area is nice with plenty of sunbeds. There is also an indoor swimming pool. The staff work very hard. Would highly recommend.

Enjoyable stay, extremely clean hotel in a great position right on the beach. 95% of the staff were excellent with the reception team being very helpful.
The food was decent without being exceptional, the entertainment was poor in our opinion and we thought the main bar needed redesigning as it seemed very old fashioned compared to the rest of the hotel. The pool area was busy and you had to be up for 08.00 to get a decent spot. If I had to give the hotel a mark out of 10 I would give it 7.5

This was a return visit to the hotel and once again we weren't disappointed. All the staff are helpful and friendly. The rooms are cleaned daily and spotless. The staff go out of their way to ensure we have a great time. The food cannot be faulted, plenty of variety and excellent quality and presentation.

Probably stayed here 20 odd times in the last 30 years. Cannot fault the the Monica. Everything clean and tidy and service very good indeed. Food very good with lots of choice. Prices at the bar not too bad .Age group mainly retired people.
One minor problem- the room where the night time entertainment takes place is nothing like big enough. Entertainment much the same each evening .
Other than that I felt very comfortable in the hotel. Nerja as lovely as always,
