recently stayed at La Cala Resort with a group of 16, and overall it was a really great experience, especially if you’re into golf.
The standout for me was the golf itself. The resort has three courses (Asia, America, and Europa), and all of them are in excellent condition. Every hole feels unique, with some genuinely stunning views across the mountains and coastline. It’s one of those places where you actually stop and take it in before hitting your shot.
Service-wise, it was a bit mixed, but mostly very positive. The staff at the hotel reception were friendly and welcoming throughout the stay. The real highlight was the breakfast and buffet restaurant staff. They were exceptional, always smiling, attentive, and genuinely going the extra mile to make sure everything was spot on.
On the other hand, the service at the clubhouse and steakhouse was more what you’d expect at a typical golf venue, perfectly fine, but nothing particularly memorable compared to the rest of the resort.
The resort itself is well laid out, peaceful, and ideal for a golf trip with friends. Everything is on site, which makes it really easy when you’re in a larger group.

We booked the golf experience package with the superior room. It was amazing. Beautiful courses with great facilities, wonderful, spacious room and such kind people working at the hotel. For myself as the non-golfer, several perks were included and made the stay very relaxing and even more enjoyable. If you're thinking of staying at La Cala Resort, go for it. You won't be disappointed! If you are in need of assistance, they are really good to reach through both email and telephone. The entire hotel, including the room, is spotless clean. Fantastic resort. Staff incredibly friendly and obliging. Organised a 70th birthday celebration with no fuss.
Three incredibly challenging courses. You won't see a straight fairway!! Blind holes a plenty and tricky greens, mostly elevated. Clubhouse inviting after a round with options to eat in the Clubhouse, hotel restaurant or Steakhouse. Taxis available to beach or Mijas
Spa is inviting and selection of treatments available.
Totally understand why so many return year after year. Highly recommend.

I visited the spa first time and in rainy day it was like the warm paradise. Big dry sauna with nice view was the best part of it. Very friendly welcoming. Living in costa it is not easy to find a good spa. This was perfect and I bought gift cards to my daughter also.

Yesterday I visited this most picturesque area with a beautiful hotel ,Spa , steakhouse, & a very well looked after golf court , also tennis & paddle courts .It was my birthday yesterday & I had reserved Spa + lunch for 2 .I didn't expect I would feel so good .

Firstly, welcoming was amazing. All was explained to us & every question was answered & more : the staff encouraged to ask if we needed any help. wyesterday to celebrate my birthday. I had booked Spa + steakhouse . Spa facilities satisfied my needs & lifted my mood . All was so perfect. I smiled those 2 + hours ( we were allowed to use the Spa longer which I was grateful for that to a nice Spa manager .
Our lunch at the steakhouse was top notch too. We were welcomed by Hugo & enjoyed his professional & friendly service. The chef is very good there & food was excellent. I couldn't expect for that price such great food of 3 meals & a drink .
Absolutely fell in love with that place.
