We visited La Tabernilla during our trip and had an overall average experience.
The waitress who looked after us was very friendly, welcoming and attentive, and she definitely made us feel looked after. We also appreciated the fried seafood, which was fresh and enjoyable.
However, there were a few things that let the experience down. We had to wait a while before our food order could be taken, as only one member of staff seemed to be taking food orders. We also tried the Flamenquìn but unfortunately it wasn’t to our taste and had an unusual flavour.
The interior of the restaurant looked colourful and inviting.
We were seated outside in the alleyway, opposite a kebab shop. Unfortunately, there was a strong smell of urine in the street during our meal, which made the atmosphere much less pleasant. The outdoor seating is in a busy area, and it was quite noisy, making it difficult to have a conversation.
Overall, nothing was particularly bad, but nothing really stood out either. It was an average meal, and not somewhere I would personally go out of my way to return to.
