Online Guitar Building Course Review
I purchased Pablo Requena’s Online Guitar Building Course just over 9 months ago, and that decision has turned out to be a great investment in my future goal of becoming a Luthier. I also purchased the course on building the Solera and the Bending Jig which I’m very glad I did. I diligently took detailed notes and prepared sketches, and printed the available plans and diagrams he includes to help me remember the material as I went through the courses. In doing so, I compiled a 4” thick binder of material which was a little overwhelming to take in at a glance. Pablo breaks the process down into 28 chapters which make it manageable. It still took me 8 months to get through the course in its entirety. In order to help drive home all this learning, I also arranged to enroll in one of Pablo’s One to One Courses. If I already had extensive woodworking skills and experience, I believe the Online Course may have allowed me to successfully build a guitar. Although, having been through the in-person course, I really believe both courses work in unison to build your level of confidence. Having now built my first absolutely beautiful high-end guitar with Pablo’s tutelage, I feel very confident to proceed in setting up shop and building my dream of working with fine woods and making a business or a hobby much easier. Pablo’s course is definitely the first step in allowing you to learn what is involved and give you the taste of guitar building. His courses are so detailed and well organized that you will quickly observe that he is a master of his craft, and is very capable of teaching very complicated subjects. Although he was born in Malaga and Spanish is his first language, English is also second nature to him which I found was a great benefit. If you are considering purchasing the online course, I would highly recommend you do so. You will not regret it!!!

When I booked myself on Pablo's small group course, I had some basic experience of guitar making but was looking to improve quality and precision, as well as understanding better what makes a fine guitar.

In a relaxed and friendly environment, Pablo took the three of us through the many complex steps of making a guitar from scratch. He taught us how to select wood, use machines safely, make use of jigs, and set up the guitar, approaching each team step by step.

Pablo has infinite patience, is very generous with his knowledge, and is able to manage different individual's skills and paces, yet without ever compromising quality. If you are looking to build your own guitar, this is the best course you'll ever attend and you will, without a doubt, come back with a very high spec and quality looking and sounding guitar of which you'll be very proud.

I chose to undertake this course (in preference to others) because YouTube showed Pablo to be a patient, skilled luthier with a good command of English and clear explanations of each step of the build.
I’m so pleased that I did. The guitar making is at a steady pace and really easy for anyone with limited experience of woodworking tools; Pablo guides each student in the use of the tools where necessary.
The guitar I made is really comfortable to play and is not out of place when played amongst other high calibre guitars. If you are at all uncertain about this course I would urge you to take it on; I’m sure you will not regret it for one moment.

I recently completed Pablo's course on building a 'Side-Bending Jig'. Pablo is nothing short of an excellent teacher and is very detail-oriented. I consider myself to be an average woodworker and was able to complete the project without difficulty due to his well thought out presentation.
In addition, I also subscribe to several of his guitar building courses and I highly recommend them.

Building a guitar and learning from Pablo was one of the greatest experiences I’ve ever had in my life. Spending a month creating, chiseling, sanding each piece that forms a guitar and building relationships with my other workshop luthiers was priceless and so meaningful. I cannot recommend Pablo and his guitar making course enough. I came in a season of loss and personal grief and it was truly so therapeutic and healing to build this guitar and the friendships that will last a lifetime. Sign up today, go, and have one of the greatest experiences of your life. Gracias Pablo, you are an incredible teacher and friend!
