⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Absolute Must-Visit in Málaga!

Definitely one of the best spots on Málaga's culinary map! Picasso Bar Tapas at Plaza de la Merced is an absolute hit for anyone who appreciates excellent food, a great atmosphere, and top-tier quality.
What comes out of their kitchen is pure perfection. The massive platter of fried seafood and fish (traditional fritura malagueña) exceeded our wildest expectations—the portion was huge, the calamari and small fish were perfectly crispy, fresh, and importantly, not greasy at all. The assorted tapas board is an absolute masterpiece: from wonderfully seasoned meatballs (albóndigas), to great patatas bravas, paella, and a delicious mini burger. It's the perfect way to taste a variety of authentic flavors in a single order. Everything was not only delicious but also beautifully presented.
Another huge plus is the brilliant location right in the heart of the city, overlooking the vibrant square. The portions are very generous, and the value for money is outstanding.
I highly recommend it to anyone looking for genuine Spanish hospitality and a fantastic culinary experience. We will definitely be coming back!

I had to check out this tapas bar after seeing it had over 43,000 Google reviews—and it absolutely lived up to the hype! Easily our favorite spot in Málaga. We arrived pretty late after our flight but were served right away, which was a great start.

The mojitos were amazing, and the tapas were next level. The peppers, croquettes, and prawns were packed with flavor—honestly some of the best we had on the trip. It was so good that we came back the very next day for lunch!

The only downside was the beef burger we ordered—it came medium rare and just wasn’t for us.

Highly recommend this place—the food and service are both top-notch.

As our tour guide recommendation, we came for lunch. As I have seen it is a touristy place. I do not know if the locals come and eat here or not. We ordered the mix tapas and large seafood paella. Sangria and some other drinks. It is not that much as I expected. Service is slow as all other places in the area. But the ambiance is nice to sit outside and enjoy the weather.

Great atmosphere and a really enjoyable place to sit, especially with its lovely view facing the main square. The vibe is lively but still relaxing, making it perfect for a casual break during the day or early evening.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, always attentive without being overwhelming. Service was smooth and welcoming.

If you’re looking for a sweet snack or a light dessert-style bite, this is definitely a place worth trying. Overall, a very pleasant experience and a nice spot to enjoy the city atmosphere.

I visited this tapas bar for the second time, and once again, I was extremely satisfied. They offer a wide selection of tapas, making it hard to choose just a few. We decided to go for the chef’s selection of 5 tapas for €20, and they were so delicious that we couldn’t resist ordering three more.
The drinks were grat, both the sangria and mojito were excellent. The staff were very kind, friendly, and attentive throughout our visit.
As a lovely surprise, we even received a complimentary farewell drink at the end, which was a perfect finishing touch. I can highly recommend this place to anyone who loves great food, drinks, and a welcoming atmosphere.
