Rastro Betel is a charity thrift store operated by Betel, a non-profit organization dedicated to social care and rehabilitation. The store sells second-hand furniture, clothing, household items, and appliances, with all profits supporting free residential programs for people in social exclusion or struggling with addiction.
Densely populated residential district just north-west of the centre, between Carretera de Cádiz and Bailén-Miraflores. It contains the main long-distance bus station, the wholesale food market (Mercado Mayorista), the football stadium La Rosaleda and several large supermarkets. The area is mainly mid-20th-century blocks of flats. Two Metro Málaga lines run through it, and the Cercanías commuter rail stops at Victoria Kent. The district is not a tourist destination but is well-connected to the centre in under 15 minutes.

Whenever I need something for the house, I always stop by Betel first. That way I give furniture and other items a second life and save money. They have everything in very good condition.
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SITE. Everything seems fine when you first go in, but if you have a problem, forget about getting any help. They wash their hands of it and try to do everything without invoices or bank transfers so there's no record of it anywhere. A terrible experience, not recommended at all.
I called a few days ago and they scheduled an appointment for me yesterday at 10:00 AM.
After 45 minutes, I had to call back because there was no sign of them.
They told me they would call me back shortly with an update.
Twenty-four hours later, I still haven't heard anything. They made me travel from Benalmádena to Málaga and waste a day of my vacation (I waited for them until 5:30 PM). They're incredibly unprofessional; I don't recommend them.
The fact that they don't have fixed prices is unprofessional for an NGO. It's the shop assistant (a serious but lanky guy) who decides and quotes a price without knowing anything about the item's age or material. He asked for much more than I expected: 200 for a poorly repainted chest of drawers. Luckily, I then went to Cudeca and found a very similar, and much nicer, one for 40, with lovely staff.
