About this business
Restaurante Rompeolas offers a delightful dining experience with a focus on fresh seafood and traditional Spanish cuisine. Located along the picturesque beachfront of Málaga, it's the perfect spot to enjoy a meal with stunning ocean views. Find directions and contact details below.

About the neighbourhood: Málaga-Este

The Eastern district stretches along the coast from La Malagueta beach to the village-like fishing quarter of El Palo. It contains some of the city's most distinctive areas: La Malagueta (urban beach next to the port), Pedregalejo (palm-lined seafront paseo, traditional espetos), El Palo (working fishing community and casual chiringuitos), and El Limonar / Cerrado de Calderón (residential hillside with sea views). Local buses 11 and 34 connect the entire strip to the city centre. The seafront promenade is continuous and walkable end-to-end.

Great food (as you can see by the pictures).
The prawns were great and the pork sirloin is perfect for those who don't enjoy seafood. The seafood paella is a must, contains a good variety of different sea foods from squid to prawns.
The pricing is also very reasonable, the food is too cheap considering how good it was.

Amazing food, I'm a frequent customer there since 2019 and always coming back for pulpo frito, patatax bravas, espetos de fuego etc. Lovely people, atmosphere, location at the beach with sea view. Amazing!!

Do NOT eat here as a foreigner. You politely ask in 1 prtion how much Sardines and they tell you 6. So besides a salad and patatas bravas with too much stucen we ordered 1 portion Sardines whoch was enough. They deliver about 9 Sardines, quite strange and not ordered. We eat about 6 or 7 Sardines but at the end they charged 2 portions 😡 and refused to correct their own mistake on the bill. BAD and not polite service if you make the mistakes yourselves. They could have offered a free coffee or whatever but did NOTHING. So advised to take another restaurant. It is not about the money but about the principle.

Do not order the grilled prawns (€21). The prawns themselves were the same size as the boiled prawns served at other tables, but the portion was much smaller. A nearby table received a large plate of boiled prawns for €9.50 that two people shared, while the grilled prawn portion was significantly smaller despite costing more than twice as much. Very poor value for money and quite disappointing.

After swimming in playa de las acacias.
We decided to try a nearby restaurant.

The BBQ attracted my attention.
We ordered sardines 5€, a big whole Lubina (sea bass) for 20€, squid.
All food are grilled (except for fried food) on the barbecue which alone is spectacle.

Quite at peace and enjoyable moment watching the Sunset.
Really fair price. With two drinks each, we paid 25€ per person.
