Northern residential district set on a hillside, formerly a separate village absorbed into Málaga in the 1960s. The area is mainly single-family homes and small-scale apartment blocks. The MA-20 ring road bounds it to the south, putting Puerto de la Torre about 12 minutes by car from the city centre and 20 minutes from the airport.

Spending the day in a gorgeous Spanish family farm house, learning to cook traditional recipes from the extremely gracious hostess, Mayte, was a truly unforgettable experience.

Mayte's home is beautiful, surrounded by olive orchards, and we were lucky to come on a harvest day, and learn more about how olive oil is made. We prepared 3 delicious dishes; and Mayte was so kind, organized, patient, and engaging as we learned more about Spanish cuisine.

I'd recommend this class to anyone visiting Andalusia. It was a highlight of our trip and I'm already craving the dishes that we made.

Fantastic Cooking Workshop!

We had an amazing experience at Mayte’s cooking workshop! The beautiful family farm, surrounded by olive trees, created the perfect setting. Mayte is a wonderful host and teacher, making us feel instantly welcome.

We learned to cook delicious Spanish dishes with great tips and insights, all explained in a fun and accessible way. The paired wines were a lovely touch!

Celebrating a birthday here made it even more special, and we truly enjoyed the food, company, and warm atmosphere.

Highly recommended for anyone who loves great food and authentic Spanish flavors. Thank you, Mayte!

Spending the day cooking with Mayte was the highlight of our two-week trip to Andalucía! Beginning with the booking of the experience, we were impressed by Mayte's prompt, courteous, and generous communications with us. Being able to choose dishes (a total of three) from a variety of options was fantastic, and made us excited with anticipation well before the experience. Upon arrival at Mayte's absolutely gorgeous farmhouse, she greeted us warmly, welcoming us into her lovely home and making sure we were comfortable. She had prepared and organized ingredients, which made the cooking very smooth and easy, and she provided explanations about each of the dishes (when and how they are typically prepared and eaten), as well as step-by-step guidance on the dishes we were preparing. All throughout the process, we thoroughly enjoyed talking with Mayte! About half-way through cooking, she led us out to a beautiful patio/courtyard surrounded by plants and flowering vines, for us to enjoy a glass of wine and a snack of Spanish cheese, raisins, etc. When the meal was all cooked, we loved sitting down to eat and talk with Mayte in the same lovely patio. Meeting some of her family members and four-legged friends made us feel even more welcome; by the time we left, Mayte had become a new friend.

Went here in early June with my fiancé to celebrate one year being engaged as part of a trip to Spain and Portugal. This was such a great experience that it rivals the actual engagement. It was just the two of us along with Mayte and we had a great time from the moment we pulled up with the car to the moment we left. Mayte shared with us some amazing culinary details and secrets while also teaching us about the food culture in Spain. She accommodated our food preferences including my fiancés vegetarian diet, we had the gazpacho, stuffed mussels, and paella. We were also surprised with some wine and cheese at the start of the day and an amazing yogurt and strawberry dessert. 1000000% recommend if you do not come here you will regret it, from the amazing food to the beautiful scenery. Thank you Mayte for a wonderful time, much love from Canada 🥰

One of the most authentic and immersive experience I’ve had the chance to experience in my life. Mayte is such a welcoming with incredible values that makes her a very special person to meet. Our cooking day will be one I will remember and I would travel all the way back to Spain to relive it again.
