Let's start with the positives.
Service was excellent. Friendly and just at the right pace.
The menu is very creative, and very promising with lots of traditional Spanish dishes, but all with a twist of imagination.
The starters were great, which made us look forward to the main course. Sadly it all went downhill from there.
Starters portions were very generous, so be careful when you order. The salad in the photo is a small portion, and it was enough for all 4 of use to have some.
There were 4 of us, and 3 ordered fish. All 3 were overcooked, and sauces that came with them were full of so much salt that you could hardly taste the fish or the sauce. They did my wife's fish without salt (she is not allowed salt), but the fish was overcooked like the other 2.
I ordered the beef cheek, which looked delicious and smelled wonderful. It was cooked beautifully and tender. It just fell apart, but the sauce was so salty that the only thing I could taste was the salt. I scraped the sauce off the meat, to find beautifully cooked meat full of flavour. Why put so much salt in the sauce and ruin a great dish??
I had to mention it to the waitress before we left, because it was disappointing to have a good dish ruined by over-salting it.
You can always add salt, but you cannot take it off once you pour it in the sauce.
Would we go again? Probably not, but if we go again, we will order loads of starters instead.
