A beautiful place we visited twice during our stay.
The food was amazing, the service as well, and the ingredients were top quality. They also have the BEST coffee in Málaga, with great alternative milk options.

We were extremely satisfied — compliments to all the girls and guys working there! ❣️

ORGANIC PEEPS! Here in Malaga a few days and finally found this awesome organic resto (vegan options too). Had the spirulina cocktail (creamy and yummy) and homemade yeast bread (raisins/nuts). Shannon & Michelle were very attentive and friendly. Everything about the place was perfect for me. You can sit indoors or outside. Will be back during the rest of my stay here.

I don’t say this lightly, but BYOKO is unlike anything I’ve tried before—anywhere in the world—and I found it here in Málaga.

I’ve walked past many times, drawn in by their posters and what they communicate. They’re stylistically different—tasteful, understated, with a blend of class and rustic warmth. It’s not just the visuals, but also how they describe themselves: locally sourced produce, eco-conscious, and a clear sense of care for quality. The food looks healthy without shouting it, and the atmosphere reflects that perfectly.

One detail stood out in particular: a dining table beside a glass wall into the kitchen, with a large, warm light above it—it feels more like being invited into someone’s home than sitting in a restaurant.

Service is where things fall short slightly. I waited a long time to be seated—not just today, but also yesterday when I left after waiting too long to even order. Today was better, but still slow. Sami was helpful, but clearly overstretched. They could do with another waiter, although the kitchen also appeared to be running at capacity with a single chef.

That said, once things get going, it’s worth it.

There was no choosing involved. I knew exactly what I wanted—the Season Buddha Salad (Pollo Campero) I’d had my eye on for weeks. I complemented it with the Cacerola Trufado. At first I thought it was just a simple egg, but Sami explained the truffle component and asked how I wanted it cooked—sunny side up, as shown.

I started with a mango and pineapple smoothie—very moreish, fresh, and balanced. Not overly sweet, not overpowering.

A small but important detail: I asked for tap water and it was simply brought. No upselling, no friction. Compare that to a place I visited earlier that day—somewhere I’d been a regular—where even water became a point of friction. I walked out. A few doors down, I was served water without issue.

At BYOKO, Sami handled it exactly as it should be handled. Whether that reflects the place as a whole or comes down to the individual, I don’t yet know—but consistency matters.

Then came the food.

Both dishes delivered in texture and flavour—distinct, balanced, and unlike anything I’ve had before. Together, they complemented each other perfectly.

I had asked for the Cacerola Trufado without bread, but it arrived as shown. I didn’t mind in the end—the bread worked well with the egg and dipping was clearly intended. The bread itself was good but not outstanding—I’ve had better, and if anything were to be improved, it would be that, though it’s acceptable as is.

And that egg—honestly, it was a delight. Far beyond anything I had imagined an egg could be. This wasn’t just an ingredient, it was something else entirely.

After the mains, I had a chai latte—properly made, not from powder. Then a cappuccino and goat cheese cheesecake, served together as requested (something many places in Spain struggle with).

I was hesitant about the cheesecake—Spanish versions often have a strong, gamey flavour—but this was gentle, balanced, and refined. A single fresh mint leaf on top elevated it beautifully.

Even the cappuccino stood out—smooth, not bitter. The menu states 100% Arabica, which often means little given how coffee is roasted in Spain—but here, it actually shows.

By the end of the meal, I was moved. I have never finished a meal like that before. I spent just under €50—more than I’d usually allow—but when food reaches you on that level, it stops being about price.

It becomes something else entirely.

I had a wonderful experience here. As someone who is pregnant and managing gestational diabetes, finding enjoyable food can be challenging. I was so happy to find that the dishes here, especially the matcha lover cake, did not spike my blood sugar at all
