About the neighbourhood: Carretera de Cádiz

A long, mostly residential district running south-west of the centre, parallel to the coast as far as the airport boundary. It includes the neighborhoods of Huelin (with its own beach), La Princesa, Sacaba, San Andrés and the major shopping zone around the Vialia / María Zambrano train station. Vialia itself houses dozens of restaurants and the high-speed AVE service to Madrid. The area is well served by Metro Málaga (lines 1 and 2) and bus, and runs the length of the Paseo Marítimo Antonio Banderas.

Because I can't give it fewer stars.

I've been walking past that shop window for years, looking at their shoes. They're usually expensive for the quality. I often go to a butcher shop nearby to buy meat, and every time I pass by, I look at their window display. There are rarely two customers inside the shop, and the owner is probably at least 65 years old.
I never dared to buy anything because something gave me a bad feeling. A week ago, I walked past again and looked at their shoes out of curiosity, and I saw some men's shoes by the brand Kalfu, from a factory in Huesca, Spain. They were leather, navy blue, with very comfortable rubber soles. I'm a large woman and I usually wear men's work shoes because they're more durable. I have bunions and metatarsalgia, so these seamless leather shoes with wide rubber soles were incredibly comfortable. She told me they were non-slip, although it wasn't mentioned anywhere on the shoes or the box.

I bought them, and when I paid, the woman said, "Keep the receipt in case you have any problems with the shoes."

The next afternoon, I wore them to work in a restaurant dining room, where water, food scraps, and oils are constantly spilled. I wore them for two hours, and when I stepped on a freshly mopped floor, I slipped and almost broke my neck.

As she told me, I should keep the receipt in case of any problems. That same night, in the hotel changing room, I took off the shoes and went home. I cleaned the soles, and today, exactly a week later, I went back, and the woman refused to exchange them. She says they're used and she can't sell them like that. The shoes are undamaged, and she has shoes on her shelves that are in worse condition from being tried on so many times than the ones I wore only once.
Conclusion and advice: I will NEVER buy anything there again. I should never have gone in. It's no wonder the place is always empty, and the woman is always alone. My advice is not to buy anything, because to save face, she'll say she'll give you a refund, but she won't, and you'll be stuck with it.

And if you go, make sure you record the audio on WhatsApp to save the conversation and have a record of everything, because that's what I did today, right before going into the store, and I recorded everything. She says they're non-slip, well, ma'am, if I fall at work because of your non-slip shoes, I know who to complain to. Good luck.

The owner is very friendly and gives great advice. Quality shoes and a wide variety.
Let's shop more at small businesses and less at shopping malls and franchises.

A classic shoe shop that carries only quality shoes, as well as handbags and accessories for all occasions. Plus, the mother and daughter who run it are delightful.
