Hotel La Yedra is not a destination for a long holiday stay, but rather a soulful roadside inn that captures the traveler’s heart for a single night. Situated directly along the motorway between Málaga and Antequera, it offers great convenience — only 40 minutes from the airport — yet it still surprises with its magnificent mountain views. The room was small but exceptionally clean and provided exactly the comfort needed after a late-night arrival.
What truly makes this place special is its morning atmosphere. The restaurant fills with locals and fellow travelers enjoying the most authentic Andalusian breakfast: toasted bread with olive oil, tomatoes, and jamón, accompanied by coffee that tastes even better in such a setting. Watching people come and go constantly gave us the impression that this is a well-loved stop, almost a small cultural institution on the road.
There are, however, areas for improvement. The air conditioning in our room leaked during the night, leaving a significant puddle of water on the floor dangerously close to our luggage. Fortunately, nothing was damaged, but this is an issue that should be addressed. The WiFi also left much to be desired, making remote work nearly impossible. Finally, while the staff were kind, they did not speak English, which can be a challenge for some international guests.
Despite these minor inconveniences, Hotel La Yedra is an excellent choice for a one-night stay when traveling between Málaga and Antequera. It offers free parking, a clean and comfortable room, and, most importantly, a true taste of Andalusian daily life.
