Travelling from Málaga to Seville, we planned a lunch stop at this restaurant after reading several glowing reviews — and it absolutely lived up to the praise.
Even with our hosts’ limited English, their humour and genuine warmth made us feel instantly at home. Service was swift and friendly throughout.
We began with the fried anchovies, which arrived almost immediately, clearly cooked to order. The portion was generous — more than enough to share — and set the tone for the rest of the meal.
I opted for the pork shank, beautifully tender and served in a fragrant rosemary jus. My father chose the oxtail, equally comforting and accompanied by a side of chips. Both dishes were hearty, rustic, and full of flavour.
To drink, we enjoyed a local Rioja by Barón de Ley at just €4 a glass — excellent value and so good that we even snapped a photo of the bottle to remember it.
Although we’re staying on the Costa del Sol, we’d happily make the hour-long journey again just to return to this little gem. By the time we left, the place was filled with locals — always the best sign of all.
