Maisons du Monde

We went to the store yesterday to buy some decorations for our home and ended up spending almost twice as much. The staff is very friendly and professional — great salespeople. Julia explained today’s promotion to us in detail, and we were delighted that she spoke with us in English. We had a wonderful experience and also they have really nice decorations. Thanks to Julia and Juan for their courtesy.

I would like to express my deep dissatisfaction with the experience we had at Maisons du Monde in Málaga. We purchased six dining chairs and, since we were not allowed to take them directly from the store because they supposedly do not have a warehouse there, we were forced to hire a delivery and assembly service for €30.

The surprise came when the delivery workers arrived at our home and informed us that assembly was not included, completely contradicting what we had been told in the store. But the most outrageous part was that they also implied that, if we wanted the chairs assembled, we should give them “whatever we felt like paying.”

It is very striking that we had to sign for the delivery and unpacking, yet there was no receipt, proof of payment, or any document whatsoever regarding the supposed additional payment for assembly. It gives the impression that they intended to charge for this service outside any formal procedure and without any transparency.

Furthermore, one of the workers walked away in the middle of the conversation as soon as he realized we were not willing to pay more money for something we had already been told in the store was included. A very unprofessional attitude, unworthy of a serious company.

To make matters worse, it has been extremely difficult to try to resolve the situation: we have called the store numerous times without any response, as nobody answers the phone, and it is practically impossible to find an email address to submit a complaint. This lack of customer service channels only adds to the frustration.

It is absolutely disgraceful to pay €30 for the delivery of six chairs, then discover that the promised assembly is not included, and on top of that be asked to pay more at the time of delivery. A total lack of professionalism, transparency, and respect for the customer.

We clearly feel deceived. If this is the way Maisons du Monde operates, it leaves a lot to be desired. Very disappointed and not recommended at all.

Great home and decor store. We have purchased online and store and if had to return with no problem. Great customer service especially from Yorniel.

Always pop into one of these if they are local to my holiday destination.

Never buy furniture but always buy bits and bobs for the home. Excellent quality if a bit pricey but the good are worth the price in my opinion.
