About the neighbourhood: Palma-Palmilla

Residential district north of the centre, on the left bank of the Guadalmedina. The area is mainly social-housing blocks built between the 1960s and 1980s, organised around Plaza Palma de Mallorca. Bounded by Cruz de Humilladero to the south and Bailén-Miraflores to the east. Several bus lines link it to the city centre in 10-15 minutes, and the MA-20 ring road provides road access to the rest of the metropolitan area.

The best preschool I know. The children leave absolutely delighted because the teachers are wonderful and incredibly professional. Every activity is thoroughly enjoyed by the children. They always do it with so much love and care, and above all, they respect each child's individual needs. They learn, they play, and most importantly, they learn to respect their classmates.

My son was enrolled at this school for his first three years. In September, he started primary school at another school and still cries to go back to his "home," El Mapa School. It's also my daughter's first year of preschool, and I only have words of gratitude and affection for all the teachers and the headmistress. We're like one big family there at the school, and my children love their teacher. I have complete confidence leaving my little one there in the mornings because I know she'll be cared for and taught with love, respect, and patience. Thank you so much! ❤️

Unfortunately, the experience was not good. I wouldn't wish it on any parent involved in their children's education.
It's a shame to see that years ago it was fine, but we ended up with apathetic staff who just don't want to work and are waiting for retirement.
A terrible headmistress and her colleagues did nothing and remained silent. They deny your child basic resources and rights. They are not professionally prepared for children with difficulties, nor do they allow it.
They tell you to leave the school if you don't like it, instead of improving. They have no commitment to inclusion whatsoever. We had to take our son out, just like other parents in previous years, because the regional education authority doesn't help or listen to our complaints. Don't enroll your children there... look for better schools if you care about your children's education and mental health.

I've been taking my children to Martiricos School in Málaga for several years now, and I feel the need to speak out. Every morning, I see how the teachers greet the children with a smile. It doesn't matter if a student was born on the next street over or if they traveled halfway around the world to get here. These professionals dedicate themselves wholeheartedly to ensuring that everyone has the same opportunities for education and development. They teach with patience and enthusiasm.

It infuriates me to hear certain parents, or someone pretending to be a parent, writing about the teachers' work while trying to get special treatment for their own children. They want the world to revolve around them, and if something doesn't suit them, they take out their frustration on the school. They attack the reputation of the people who care for and educate the most important thing we have. It's a selfish attitude that damages the school community.

You know exactly what I'm talking about. If you're looking for a quality public education, you must value those who make it possible. The teachers at Martiricos demonstrate their dedication through their daily actions. They teach diverse groups and make the children feel included and HAPPY. Less complaining about personal interests and more respect for the professionals who educate the next generation.

I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy! If you care about your children learning, being taught, and being educated, run away—this isn't the place for you. They're not professionally prepared and have no empathy for children, especially those with autism or any other special needs. Their teaching methods are stuck in the 1970s. Some parents withdrew their children during the school year; we were next. They offer you the option to leave if you don't like it because they don't want to work.
