Málaga's historic core, bounded by the Guadalmedina river to the west, the port to the south and the slopes of Mount Gibralfaro to the east. The district contains the Cathedral, the Roman Theatre, the Alcazaba fortress, the Picasso Museum and the Pompidou Centre, plus the main shopping street Calle Marqués de Larios. Inside Distrito Centro sit the well-known sub-areas of Centro Histórico, Soho, La Merced and Lagunillas. The area is almost entirely pedestrianised, served by Metro Atarazanas and the Málaga–Centro Alameda rail station.

We went for an eye test for one of my kids. First we had to wait despite having an appointment, which is annoying and unprofessional and while one son was having his eyes checked, the other, 5 yo, needed the toilet and we were told that the toilet "was private and not for customers"... Despite it being right next to the room for eye tests and having an open door. So clearly they didn't want us to buy glasses there and we won't be coming back to this chain.
