Nerja kayak Burriana

We did the self-guided kayak experience in Nerja, and it was absolutely amazing. Paddling along the Maro-Cerro Gordo cliffs was peaceful and beautiful, with clear turquoise water, caves, and the highlight—a gorgeous waterfall flowing straight into the sea. It felt like a hidden paradise.

Although we went without a guide, the staff at the rental place were really friendly and helpful. They gave us clear instructions, showed us a map of the route, and made sure we were safe and confident before heading out.

Just a heads-up: wear a lot of sunscreen and reapply! We only put it on before the trip and still got a bit burned—the sun out on the water is stronger than it seems.

Highly recommended if you’re in the area. It’s a perfect way to explore the coast at your own pace and take in some unforgettable scenery!

A fabulous trip! KIKE was our guide. He gave us good info for safety and guide for how to be safe he took some fab pics, he also went all out to make sure I got my skirt back after leaving it on a rock on the beach to to dry! Thank you Kike!! And staff 💕

the best kayak rental in nerja! good price(€30 for 2 hours). great place to enjoy the beautiful nature and cool down from the hot weather. the staff is very friendly and helpful.

We chose to hire with Kayak Burriana as they could offer a 4 hour hire which would give us some extra time for swimming near the waterfall. We paid €50 for a double kayak.

On the day of hire, winds were quite high and the lifeguards had displayed a flag indicating that non-motor water sports were not allowed. Completely appreciate this is outwith the control of the company but we didn’t receive any contact from them to confirm the hire was cancelled. We then went to the shop 45 mins before the hire was due to start to try and speak to someone but no one was there and it was completely closed up. We sat in one of the restaurants across the road and no one came near the shop during that time. We went back at the time of hire and there was still no one there.

I have since emailed and sent a message on WhatsApp to arrange a refund and have received no response. Really disappointed as the reviews seemed to be really good when we booked but I now feel as though I’ve been scammed and wish I’d booked with one of the other kayak retailers.

As I’ve said above, I appreciate that the hire couldn’t take place because of the weather conditions and that’s absolutely not this company’s fault. However the lack of contact and failure to process a refund isn’t on.

Friendly, helpful, flexible, inexpensive and Harvey is a happy, nice guy who made the experience fun and enjoyable from the first minute. Don’t bother looking at the other hire places. How business should be done.
