The purpose of this letter is to thank the Art and Culture Administration of the Miraflores Center for their excellent selection of Juan Antonio Pérez López as the Oil Painting instructor. He has instilled in my sister Margarita and me a deep desire to learn about color, technique, brushstrokes, and how to perceive the focal point of a composition through light and shadow. He has shared his knowledge and passion for painting with us, which led us to begin the class as a hobby. We have become so involved that it is now more than just a pastime. When we see the finished paintings, we share his love of art, knowing that we have a long road ahead and encouraged by the fact that we have a dedicated teacher who enjoys teaching at the level each student needs.
I would like to emphasize that these feelings of gratitude are not only ours, as our classmates are also enjoying and developing professionally thanks to his charisma, knowledge, and professionalism.
Here we share our first oil painting, one of the paintings the teacher selected for us and the rest of the class to develop our color technique based on the three primary colors. This allowed us to learn which colors are involved in each part of the pictorial composition, making us fall in love with oil painting and eager to learn more and expand our knowledge and skills.
At the students' request, we had a very instructive pouring workshop, which we are looking forward to doing again under the teacher's supervision soon.
Margarita and I would like to share our first canvas so you can judge and evaluate it for yourselves.
Sincerely,
Margarita and Josefa Alcaraz
