One more disappointing experience with dry cleaning in Málaga. I’ve tried several places already—Tintorería Císter, Cristina, El Palo and la Inglesa—and this one is by far the worst. Thank goodness they refused to accept my garment.
I’d brought in my Paul & Shark sailing hat, hoping that if they cleaned it successfully, I could trust them with my tuxedo next time. Before I even spoke to the attendant, I watched a well-dressed gentleman argue for five minutes over a lost item, then leave still unsatisfied. The staff feigned concern at first, but their lukewarm apologies made it obvious this was a recurring issue.
When it was my turn, I explained that my hat—clearly labeled “Do not water wash, do not bleach, do not tumble, cool iron, dry clean with care”—had a couple of stains. The attendant shrugged and refused outright. I understand the risk of damaging a delicate piece, but their lack of expertise was glaring.
I also asked if they could coordinate with the tailor next door—whose alteration shop, unfortunately, was closed—to repair a few small holes in my Zilli jersey and then dry-clean it. Again, they wouldn’t even try to help.
All in all, this place was a new low in Málaga’s already underwhelming dry-cleaning scene. For reliable service, I’d recommend heading to Madrid or Marbella instead. It’s a real shame.
