Most amazing seafood restaurant I’ve ever been to

Please don’t be fooled by the reviews you’ve read on Google, any good restaurant you have to wait in line…. Especially when they don’t take reservations!!
It apparent from the get go that it’s will be a good experience. Being on the edge of a marina, you know the fish will be as fresh as can possibly be.
Any negative review, will be written by someone who has never worked in hospitality. We went on a Thursday, and this place is packed. Yet, the staff are friendly, attentive, and working hard.
The quality of food was exceptional. All fresh, tasty and well presented. Overall excellent experience. The atmosphere in here is 2nd to none ranging from family gatherings with young children, to retired couples. I
f you want to get a slice of Spanish life and in Estapona, come to this place.

They do not take reservations, you must come before they open, line up (write your name down in the book) and wait for a table. What I like about La Escollera is that both locals and tourists can enjoy this restaurant, you just have to follow their rules.

Our local friends recommend the fish spawn salad, octopus salad, tuna carpaccio, and the waiters also make recommendations about the freshest seafood available. We were lucky and ordered the last five sea urchins available one day.

My family’s other favorites are the shrimp fritters, scallops, fried baby squid, tomato and mackerel salad, raw oysters (when available), fried crystal shrimp,

For dessert, the milhojas, tiramisu and crema catalana are good choices.

We usually spend anywhere between 20-40€/p.p. when we come for lunch or dinner.

Most probably the best fish restaurant in town. We arrived without a reservation but the very helpful waiter had us on the terrace with a glass of wine in no time until we were called to our table.
This restaurant is dedicated to seafood and they do it excellently!

OMG. What a very special experience !!
We were told restaurant opened at 8pm and no reservations. We arrived early at 19.40 and a very long queue of 100+. Should we wait? We seated at 20.30 and were immediately served with drinks and shortly after our fresh calamari starter.
What then followed was the most incredible main courses of fresh tuna and sea bream.
However what also starred was the ourstanding service, personable friendly, knowledgeable and super efficient.
No showy pretence here. Just a continuation of incredible old fashioned perfection.
It was a special pleasure to have ended 2025 with this experience.
You fully understand why they have been in business since 1940 !!

What a place! Full of life, great food, very nice service. The best restaurant experience we had in Spain. It looks chaotic at the first glance but on a closer look , they are very efficient and organized. Great job, guys!
