We stopped in Mollina to refuel and stumbled upon Ruta138, a restaurant conveniently located within the gas station. The Picadillo de Pulpo was incredibly delicious, reminiscent of the pulpo salad I love from Piñones, Puerto Rico. The ensaladilla was also fresh and perfectly seasoned. The local wine had a dry taste with great flavor, and the beer was mega cold. However, the carrot cake didn't quite hit the mark - it lacked a strong carrot flavor and was overly sweet with insufficient spice.
Our server, Miguel, provided exceptional service. Keep in mind that Ruta138 is a no-frills, local cafeteria-style spot, so don't expect a fancy atmosphere or elaborate amenities. Despite its simplicity, the food and service truly shine.
