Taberna La Abuela

We visited Taberna La Abuela a couple of times during our trip to Fuengirola and thoroughly enjoyed it. It is clearly a local favourite, as the place was packed both times we visited, which made for a brilliant, buzzing atmosphere that really added to the experience.

The beer was cold, and the tapas were delicious. If you are looking for a lively spot with authentic vibes and great food to go with your drinks, this is definitely the place to go. We’ll certainly be back next time we are in town!

I've eaten tapas in many places in Spain and Canaries and here on Costa del sol

For me good ones have mostly been cooked fresh majority of them home made

Not here it seems self service from a pile of cold bits of food on the counter with cocktail sticks in them

Trays of food under those that if you weren't Spanish you wouldn't have a clue what it was

So if you like rude belligerent staff treating you with little or no respect as a customer - everything that should be hot binged in a microwave even fried already cold fried eggs

It may be your type of place

Before we had even even eaten one young waiter pushed card machine in my face pay now

Hadn't seen or even eaten he was then distracted by some food being given to him which he then ate at counter

We had one of their plate pan deals frozen French fries overcooked fried eggs wafer tin ham couple of rubbery prawns

So MC Donalds of tapas for me If you're Spanish you may be treat better it seems

Then to cap it all I went to our hotel to check if I had or hadn't paid on my bank app and I hadn't so then paid

Spanish only here I think

Great selections of various tapas. Price-quality-ratio is very on point. 1 tapas + 1 glass of wine together 3€. Also, nice service :)

This is a locals tapas bar one street away from the beaches & always busy. Tapas & a drink cost €2.50, includes wine or beer or soft drinks. Opens midday. The choice & quality of Spanish tapas is incredible. I visited 3 times with a friend and each time had 3 different tapas. For €7.50 each we had eaten a complete meal. Once seated you then have to queue inside with a tray & order your tapas from a vast array of hot & cold dishes ready prepared & ask for what you want to drink. Pay at the till. Take it outside to your table. Enjoy!

It is located on street level so accessible for people with disabilities.

Fab choice 😋 amazing value.. 2.50e for a tapas & a drink, cana or vino 👌🤩 The conservatory makes for a nice sheltered environment when the sun goes & it becomes chilly.. THE BEST 👍
