About this business
Discover the beauty of nature at the Botanical Garden in Málaga, located in the Teatinos-Universidad area. This serene park offers a diverse collection of plants and a peaceful environment perfect for a leisurely stroll or a picnic. Find directions and contact details below.

About the neighbourhood: Teatinos-Universidad

A modern, mostly residential district built up rapidly from the 1990s around the University of Málaga campus. The area is grid-planned, with wide avenues, several shopping centres (including Rosaleda nearby) and large supermarkets. The university itself hosts more than 35,000 students, which shapes the local mix of cafés, gyms and student housing. Connected to the centre by Metro Málaga (line 1, terminus at Andalucía Tech) — under 10 minutes from Atarazanas.

Free to enter. No tickets, just walk in off the street. Entrance is right next to the Metro stop for the University. Peaceful place. Wide variety of plants and trees from all over the world all well marked with clear plaques. Attractive easy to walk layout. The general area surrounding is worth a visit too with impressive architecture and a spacious modern feel.

Walked up from the city centre and spent a good few hours here. A really lovely botanic garden with loads to see and a huge variation of plants. Particularly enjoyed the numerous picnic areas and seeing the frogs and baby turtles!

I was overwhelmed by the crowds in Málaga centre and wanted to visit a peaceful, quiet place. This university botanical garden was easily accessible by Metro line 1. It was 8 stops from Atarazanas and practically next to the metro stop. It was a recharging and satisfying 1 hour for me. The garden is small and well organised. I felt lucky to see some blooming trees I've never seen before.

Interesting collection of trees and shrubs. There were some particularly fine cacti, agaves and euphorbias.

Nice, diverse gardens. There
Decided on a whim to visit this garden and I'm so glad we did. It's 5 stops on metro from city centre or about and hour and half slow walk.

Such a great selection of plants from around the world and the displays are neat and tidy.

Was free to enter on the day I visited, toilets are very clean.

No food or drinks available (no vending machines) but there are a few restaurants around.

Bear in mind that this is a small scale, university botanical garden covering about one block so do not expect a huge display.

Grounds are really well kept, most plants have name plates and explain which country they come from.

Overall a fantastic small scale garden with some great exhibits that we both really enjoyed.

We're both into plants so spent about an hour wandering and taking photos, a casual stroll through would take 20 mins.
