Descorche Málaga D.O.C.

Such a lovely place. We had an amazing meal here, the best food of the holiday. We had the prawns, croquettes, pork cheek and octopus.
For dessert we had the Tiramisu which was one of the best ones I’ve ever had. Service was great and friendly honestly cannot fault this place. I highly recommend it.

Descorche was cozy, comfortable, and welcoming with outstanding service by Elias! He took amazing care of our table by making fantastic food and local wine recommendations, and he attentively topped up wine glasses and cleared dishes for every table in the restaurant with each sweep through the dining room. Elias pointed out the croquetas (lightly crisp and earthy to balance the delicate shrimp) and the portobello mushrooms (rich and cheesy, but brightened by peppers and onions), but every dish was outstanding. The confit artichoke had a delectable crunch that matched the firmness of the cured yolk, and both highlighted the sweet finish of the artichoke heart. The chipirones were also unique and had an amazing texture gradient between the deep fried arms on top of the meaty fin, and all of this on a bed of toothsome black rice and spinach. Delicious! Elias also recommended a local Malaga white wine that was dry but not acidic. If you’re looking for an unobtrusive but jovial ambiance and thoughtfully crafted dishes, please give Descorche a try!

Little did we know that this spot is owned by the same folks who own the restaurant across the street where we ate the night before. So when the waitress from across the street walked in and recognized us - she made sure we were well taken care of. And well taken care of we were. Our waiter Elias as well as the restaurant’s other team members went out of their way while hosting us. From the funny-in-between-meals-chatting to the service quality and the food - everything was wonderful. We ate, and tried wines from local grapes. And highly recommend this spot to try some of the local delicacies.

A hidden gem, the restaurant is tucked behind the wine bar at the front. Great menu with some classics and items with a modern twist. It goes without saying the wine menu is amazing.
