how can an university library be closed at nights and holidays?

For the first time in my life I see a University Library which is not always open. Also closing it during the Christmas holiday makes no sense. It is a complete inconvenience as I believe there are a lot of students who want to go there and study no matter the time of the day. Im greatly disappointed!!

A private library for university students during exam periods. Only university students are allowed in... I imagine only university students will pay for its upkeep, with the taxes generated from their studies...
