Our energetic toddler loves this park! A great place to visit and hang around for many hours. The only improvements and wishes would be a cafeteria / restaurant and more toilets available. Otherwise, a strong recommendation.

Gran Parque de Mijas is a 270,000 square-meter urban park in Mijas, the largest in Andalusia. It offers playgrounds, cycling paths, and walking areas with free admission and accessible facilities for people with reduced mobility.

Nice huge park, the skatepark is ok with some mellow mini ramps and a couple of flat bars. There’s 2 concrete bowls with black coping with grinds well but the pool coping needs a tonne of wax or some local shredders need to paint it with lacquer. The 5 foot bowl has heaps of space between the transitions and is fun, unfortunately the deeper bowl with spine seems to have a drainage issue and is leaking.. there’s an oververt pocket with pool coping which could be fun if they fix the drainage issue..
This is the first park in the area where we actually have trees providing shade on a hot playground, with benches wrapped around the trunks. It was really well thought out. I hope the trees grow quickly! They are planted everywhere possible, every 3 meters. There is lots of grass, a skatepark, an amphitheater, and a bike path.
It has everything, but what makes me happiest is the modern approach showing that humans and nature can harmonize to create a wonderful ecosystem. I would add a sound barrier wall on the side of the park to block the highway noise, but I hope that once the trees grow, we won't hear it anymore.
Bravo Ayuntamiento Mijas! Maybe the Torremolinos City Hall will learn something from you and stop cutting down trees in our city, and start planting them like you do instead!
It is a nice park, really good place to take a walk, especially with the kids.
The only thing is the shade is missing and all the trees will take some time until they grow bigger, and it will be really hot in summer.... and would be nice to have at least one more toilet.
Beautiful place to visit. Very cozy, comfortable, quiet. There is something for everyone to do. There are many playgrounds for children, a skate park, basketball, soccer, and volleyball courts. There is a place for dogs where you can train them.
