About the neighbourhood: Distrito Centro

Málaga's historic core, bounded by the Guadalmedina river to the west, the port to the south and the slopes of Mount Gibralfaro to the east. The district contains the Cathedral, the Roman Theatre, the Alcazaba fortress, the Picasso Museum and the Pompidou Centre, plus the main shopping street Calle Marqués de Larios. Inside Distrito Centro sit the well-known sub-areas of Centro Histórico, Soho, La Merced and Lagunillas. The area is almost entirely pedestrianised, served by Metro Atarazanas and the Málaga–Centro Alameda rail station.

I have never experienced such a level of unprofessionalism and lack of basic hospitality in my life. This hotel seems to be managed by a remote company in the US with absolutely no local presence or accountability.
Here is a summary of our 5-day nightmare:

Non-existent Service: We stayed for 5 full days and not once was our room cleaned. Sheets were never changed, and basic amenities like tea and coffee were never replenished. We felt completely abandoned.

Gaslighting Management: When I messaged them about these issues, they told me to "talk to the reception." I spent a whole day looking for someone, only to be told later via message: "Yes, you are right, there is no reception." Why direct me there in the first place?! They then asked for my requests again (which I had already provided), promised to fix them, and then... nothing. Absolute silence for the rest of the stay.

Construction Noise: Forget about sleeping in. Construction started on the terrace every morning at 7:00 AM. It felt like staying in the middle of a workshop rather than a hotel. There was zero respect for the guests' rest.

The "Hike" to the Hotel: Be warned—this place is located at a very high point. You have to climb an exhausting number of stairs just to reach the entrance. This is not mentioned clearly, and it makes coming and going a physical chore.

In short: This is a "ghost hotel." They take your money and disappear. No one cares about your comfort, your requests, or your experience. Do yourself a favor and book somewhere else where they actually value their guests.

A lovely place in a lovely setting. Excellent bed! Nice grill/microwave oven. Beautiful cityscape with the castle quite close. No-nonsense check-in and check-out, friendly concierge-worker in the house. One minus point for us: our room (nº103) was very cold (January 2026). On the third day we managed to get the air conditioner repaired so that it would give some heat, but the isolation was rather weak, and the only way to keep an acceptable temperature was to heat all day, which is not very sustainable. The water in the shower took quite a long time to heat up as well. In a warmer season I’m sure the place will be absolutely great with the terrace and all.
If you have luggage, check the timetable of bus 36, otherwise it’s going to be a little walk uphill.

I booked and paid for this hotel through Hotels.com. I received a message from the hotel stating they couldn't charge my payment and to contact my bank. It was already paid for and it was confirmed through my bank. The hotel cancelled my reservation. I contacted Hotels.com and fortunately was able to get a refund and book a different hotel.

Nice stay, clean and practical room, the shared terrace is currently under construction so they advertise something guests can't currently use.

Few buses pass by the hotel, so the usual walk from Paseo della Victoria is a nice habit.

Good place to stay. Bit far off city If you walk. But not too far If you dont mind.
