About this business
La Proa de Teatinos is a delightful restaurant located in the Teatinos-Universidad area of Málaga. Known for its tasty meals and takeaway options, it’s a great spot to enjoy a satisfying dining experience. Find directions and contact details below.

About the neighbourhood: Teatinos-Universidad

A modern, mostly residential district built up rapidly from the 1990s around the University of Málaga campus. The area is grid-planned, with wide avenues, several shopping centres (including Rosaleda nearby) and large supermarkets. The university itself hosts more than 35,000 students, which shapes the local mix of cafés, gyms and student housing. Connected to the centre by Metro Málaga (line 1, terminus at Andalucía Tech) — under 10 minutes from Atarazanas.

It was absolutely wonderful. We had the oxtail paella and it was just so delicious. We asked the waiter about it and he showed us pictures. Definitely worth the price (remember it is the price listed per person)!

Great portions for 2 people as well. We will definitely be coming back.

Also, they don’t speak English so you might need google translate!

Amazingly good food. Especially the black paella. The starters are also amazing. Everything is homemade, and that is easy to taste.
Loved the sangria.

If in Malaga, go here

Great food. We had the seafood paella, fried calamari and grilled squid. The grilled squid was my favorite out of all three. Squids were fresh and chewy, tossed with garlic and herbs. Superb!

The paella was a little too salted for my liking but the seafood was fresh. We had these three dishes for three people and there was plenty to go around.

They also have excellent staff. They don’t speak any English but were more than happy to make recommendations with Spanish and handsigns and kept checking back on us throughout our meal. Great customer service :)

Delicious food, super friendly staff. Best restaurant in Malaga to get away from the tourists!!!!! We highly recommend the pulpo (octopus with potato), croquettas, and the paella negro (squid ink). To drink, go for the sangria!!!! So delicious!

We went to La Proa de Teatinos & it was awesome! The food was super yummy, but the best part was our waiter who was so kind 🫶 and really funny! He made sure we had everything we needed & made us feel really welcomed..🌞. It was like having a superhero waiter! We had so much fun and we'd love to go back again!
Muchas gracias 🙏
