The Mirador de Aldehuela is one of the most iconic viewpoints in Ronda, offering a spectacular vantage point directly beside the famous Puente Nuevo. From this terrace, visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of the El Tajo gorge, with its sheer cliffs dropping dramatically to the Guadalevín River below. The viewpoint is named after the architect José Martín de Aldehuela, who designed the Puente Nuevo, and it provides one of the best angles to appreciate the bridge’s monumental structure and engineering. Easily accessible from the town center, it is a popular stop for visitors due to its convenience and stunning scenery, especially at sunset when the warm light illuminates the stone bridge and surrounding landscape. The Mirador de Aldehuela combines historical significance with unforgettable views, making it an essential stop when exploring Ronda.

Stunning viewpoint over the Tajo gorge right next to the famous Puente Nuevo. From this observation deck you get a dramatic bird’s-eye view of the cliffs, whitewashed houses clinging to the rock and the river winding far below. it looks incredible in photos and even better in person. Easy to access, with plenty of space to stop for pictures and just soak in the scenery, so don’t miss this spot when you walk across the bridge in Ronda.

Pretty views from the bridge. You can walk all the way down into the valley below. Sure it would have been good but didnt fancy it in the rain.

Nice to visit if you are in the area

One of the most breathtaking historical sites I have ever seen, a definite must see in Andalusia. This viewpoint in Ronda connects two parts of the city and offers a stunning view of the impressive viaduct and majestic bridge, reminiscent of a Lord of the Rings landscape. The dramatic cliffs, unique rock formations and surrounding valleys create a truly spectacular sight. For just 2.50 euros you can buy a ticket to walk down for an even more impressive perspective. However, the path is not wheelchair accessible so good mobility is required. One of the highlights is the many birds soaring effortlessly on the thermal winds and nesting in the rock crevices, a paradise for nature lovers.
The only downside, it is extremely crowded as it is a beloved spot for visitors. But with a bit of patience you can fully take in the magic of this place. Perfect for dreaming, admiring or even painting. Absolutely worth a visit.

As impressive as the view from the big bridge, perhaps even more. Here you can clearly see the gorge and the traces of the old waterfalls, before the water was diverted into channels and used to power mills. This view alone makes the trip to Ronda worthwhile.
