About this business
Pension Barlovento is a cozy hotel located in the Cruz de Humilladero area of Málaga, offering comfortable lodging for travelers. With its convenient location, it's an ideal base for exploring the vibrant city. Find directions and contact details below.

About the neighbourhood: Cruz de Humilladero

Densely populated residential district just north-west of the centre, between Carretera de Cádiz and Bailén-Miraflores. It contains the main long-distance bus station, the wholesale food market (Mercado Mayorista), the football stadium La Rosaleda and several large supermarkets. The area is mainly mid-20th-century blocks of flats. Two Metro Málaga lines run through it, and the Cercanías commuter rail stops at Victoria Kent. The district is not a tourist destination but is well-connected to the centre in under 15 minutes.

Very disappointing – customer service is nonexistent

I had a terrible experience with Pensión Berlovento. The customer service is completely absent. They do not respond to any messages sent through the Booking app — no matter how many times you write.

They also do not speak a single word of English, which makes communication incredibly difficult for international travelers. I even tried speaking to them in Spanish over the phone, kindly asking them to reply to my Booking messages — their only response was: “communicate through Booking” — the same platform where they never reply.

The only way to reach them is by phone, but again, without speaking Spanish fluently, you’re on your own. It felt like they simply didn’t care at all about helping guests or answering questions.

If you expect basic communication, responsiveness, or even the slightest customer support, I strongly suggest staying elsewhere.

So I don't want to get into the smell, the lack of any explanation on how to check in, the complete inability to speak any language except spanish, the broken interior and the bad neighbourhood... But the burmarks everywhere the ashtray and the rotting sneakers on the windowsill... C'mon.... You're not even pretending to care....

We spent 10 nights with the partner, at first glance, the hostel looks well-kept but after looking closer to the cleanliness in the rooms I heartily advise - stench and dirt (on lampshades, drawers and under the bed dust not rubbed off for weeks, clogged bathtub !) The owner of the hostel supposedly provides free 3 Wi-Fi and actually it works only one on the entire hostel through which you can not watch anything and find out on the Internet

Hard to find the entrance. Room was very small and there was no regular window, one was facing inside of a corridor. The room was clean and nice apart from the window problem.

The pension has everything you need for sleeping. The beds are good. The shower is hot and there is a bakery nearby for breakfast.
