About the neighbourhood: Distrito Centro
Málaga's historic core, bounded by the Guadalmedina river to the west, the port to the south and the slopes of Mount Gibralfaro to the east. The district contains the Cathedral, the Roman Theatre, the Alcazaba fortress, the Picasso Museum and the Pompidou Centre, plus the main shopping street Calle Marqués de Larios. Love this market. They have a little bit of everything. Open hours are extensive. Friendly staff.
This is my "go to" for liquor. While the choices are not wide, they generally have the more popular choices. For gin afficionado, there is an entire cabinet. The scotch and rum selection is not large, but most are of upper quality at excellent prices compared to almost ANY store in Málaga. As Supermercado Preba is only a short three blocks north of Atarazanas central market, it's very worthwhile the walk to stock up one's liquor supply. Wine selection is decent, as is beer. This is not really a "supermarket", but a small grocery store with the basics,
