We had an amazing experience! Our server was Christian and he was attentive, kind, professional and made our experience even better! The food was top notch, and even with a baby and at a super busy time (Saturday evening in the end of June) they made space for us and made sure we had an amazing experience. And of course, the view is unbeatable. Highly recommend!!

Tatanegro was an amazing experience from start to finish. First of all, the atmosphere is absolutely stunning — you truly feel like you are surrounded by history. The place has a unique charm and a very authentic vibe, yet it still feels comfortable, welcoming, and well-organized. Everything was clean and nicely presented, which made the experience even better.

The food was fresh and full of flavor. We tried several dishes and honestly enjoyed all of them, but the Gambas al Pil Pil was outstanding — perfectly cooked, rich in taste, and definitely one of the best I’ve had. The Empanada Argentina is also a must-try, delicious and very satisfying.

Another highlight was the service. The staff were extremely kind, friendly, and helpful. They were attentive without being intrusive and made sure we felt comfortable throughout the meal.

Overall, a fantastic restaurant with great food, a beautiful historical setting, and excellent service. Highly recommended if you’re in the area!

Very nice restaurant and good location in the center of the city right infront of the cathedral. The staff is excellent - very kind and helpful. The food is great, tapas and paella to be precise, tasty and full of flavor. Overall, would recommend if you want to eat authentic paella and tapas in Malaga centre. Btw, when we came all the tables were reserved and we were lucky to find a free table, you can reserve online so do it!

Tatanegro – Malaga city centre, in front of the cathedral
Great restaurant in Malaga city centre, right by the cathedral. We walked in without a reservation and honestly expected a typical tourist spot, but it turned out to be a great find.
The staff (our waiter was half Argentinian, half Italian) was friendly and professional, quickly finding us a table in a covered terrace despite the rain.
Service was fast, attentive and welcoming. We also enjoyed two glasses of very good rosé.
We ordered:
Patatas bravas with kimchi (tapas version)
Russian salad (tapas version)
Beef croquettes (tapas version)
Gambas pil pil
Andalusian fried calamari
Everything was fresh, flavorful and well executed, with a nice balance between traditional Spanish tapas and a modern twist.
👉 Perfect choice if you’re looking for a restaurant in Malaga city centre, with quality tapas, fresh seafood and quick service, close to the cathedral.
Highly recommended 👍

At first glance, the location might make you think this place is just another tourist trap—but that couldn’t be further from the truth. The food is genuinely delicious and thoughtfully prepared, and the service was excellent, making the whole experience very enjoyable. The only small note is that the Dorada tasted more like farmed rather than wild, with a slightly richer, oilier texture than expected.
