Everything was really tasty and full of flavor. The service was super fast and friendly, and the staff seemed to genuinely care that we enjoyed our meal. The tapas were varied and fresh – lots of different tastes, textures and combinations, all nicely presented. You could tell the ingredients were good quality and made with attention. Cozy atmosphere too, great place to relax and enjoy proper Spanish food. Definitely worth a visit – we’ll be back for sure.

Perusing a photo of Toro Tapas’ menu online, I was struck by the Potatas con Tomate as a potentially tasty way to consume some essential carbs for the next day’s epic bike ride. And after hiking down to the gorge for some breathtaking views of the Puente Nuevo before dinner, and then back up again, I was definitely due for some carb crushing. Toro Tapas is easy to find and centrally located near the Puente. I chose one of the seats outside—a great spot for people watching and enjoying some welcome shade from the hot Spanish sun. In addition to the potatatas, I ordered a chilled soup and the calamari sandwich. The soup was the best of the three—a flavorful, thick and creamy (though vegan) base with a zesty tang of sardine and olive, both of which could be seen sitting on top when served. In addition, there were fresh greens and a drizzle of olive oil atop. I consider myself a connoisseur of tinned sardines, but these small chunks of fish tasted so fresh I felt like I was eating something totally different—no fishy taste or smell whatsoever. As I dug into the potatoes, I was struck by the subtle seasoning and velvety sensation of a light oil (no doubt one of the olive products produced regionally)—they certainly hit the spot. The four or five portions of calamari were nested in a dark purplish roll sprinkled with sesame seeds. The rolls’ spongy texture indicated that it was of the more refined/processed variety; however, I’m sure there were some wholesome phytonutrients given the vibrant hue. The squid was lightly battered and lightly fried, with a side of a delicious vegan dipping sauce. Although the potatoes and calamari were on a slightly lower level than the soup, I give Toro Tapas five stars anyway, given the creative and delectable bisque and the location.

Update: I returned this evening and can say the anchovy/olive and the smoked salmon/guacamole tapas were extremely tasty! The gazpacho had an original tang to it, and it was served in a glass as well--ingenious! The plate of Potatas con Tomate were even better this time around, with a bold olive oil flavor complimenting the tomato. Staff were pleasant and helpful, too.

Authentic tapas bar, with flavourful dishes. Ribs, risotto, chorriso and sangria are 💯! The russian salad is fine, but the serranito is norhing special. The service was cold but quick; however, it was very disappointing that we had to chase down the waiter to place our order and pay. We couldn't sit outside because they didn’t want to push two separate tables together for the four of us. Although, consider to sit in, definitelly not a tourist-trap, however it can seem a bit overpriced.

We really made a good decision to come here for lunch, the party including children of 2 and 5. The place is very smart and comfortable whilst still being relaxed. The staff were very welcoming and the service was super efficient with very little wait. A large menu was provided but also a small list of suggestions of particularly interesting Andalusian food which was a fantastic idea. We had the thin cut pork belly in the Cadiz style and the eggs with prawns and baby eels. The pork ribs were very tasty, aubergine fritters very good, and we enjoyed everything. Highly recommended.

Excellent food and service. We had lunch and returned for dinner. Ensalada di casa, patatas bravas, garlic prawns and gildas, delicious. Lovely blonde female owner, her son and other staff provide impeccable service. It’s constantly busy, but you are always greeted with a friendly smile. Highly recommended.
