Best Italian Restaurants in Málaga

Italian food has long been one of Málaga's most reliable dining options, and the scene has only deepened in recent years. As of 2026, the city supports everything from wood-fired Neapolitan pizzerias to polished osterias cooking regional pasta dishes with serious attention to ingredients. Much of the action clusters in Distrito Centro, where historic streets around the old town pack in trattorias alongside newer openings, but strong options also stretch west toward Carretera de Cádiz, a neighbourhood where locals outnumber tourists and the cooking tends to follow suit. Competition is fierce, which keeps standards high: doughs are fermented properly, buffalo mozzarella arrives fresh, and house-made pasta is increasingly the norm rather than the exception.

Among the most consistently top-rated names, Restaurante Italiano Da Saveria in Distrito Centro has built a huge following on generous portions and a menu that covers the classics without cutting corners. Down at the port, Restaurante La Tagliatella | Muelle Uno pairs its pasta and risotto with harbour views, making it a natural pick for visitors combining dinner with a waterfront stroll. RISTORANTE PIZZERIA LA MIA REGINA earns some of the highest ratings in the city for its pizzas, while Romolo y Remo Pizzería and Radici Osteria Italiana, both in Distrito Centro, attract regulars who come back for Roman-style slices and regional Italian cooking respectively. Over in Carretera de Cádiz, Restaurante Pizzeria Enrique's has served the neighbourhood for years and remains a dependable local favourite.

Choosing between them comes down to mood and timing. Lunch runs roughly from 1:30 to 4 pm and dinner rarely starts before 8:30 pm, with the busiest rooms in Distrito Centro filling fast on weekends, so booking ahead is wise for the top-rated spots. For a special occasion, the harbour-side setting at Muelle Uno is hard to beat; for a casual weeknight, the neighbourhood pizzerias offer better value and shorter waits.
